Our Approach

We incorporate sustainability criteria into our management decisions, internal processes, investments, supply chain, products and services. Our clear governance structure ensures that our processes and practices are fair and transparent.

Our Understanding of Sustainability

At MCH, we understand sustainability as the interplay of environment, society, and economy, which shape our business activities and their impacts. We utilize natural, societal, and cultural resources to contribute to economic development through art and culture, enhancing quality of life. Our goal is to maximize positive effects and minimize negative ones by incorporating sustainability criteria into all our decisions and processes. In doing so, we are part of a network of economic and political partners, influenced by a clear and transparent governance structure.

Our Focus Topics

For MCH Group, a strategic approach to sustainability involves defining the areas where we can make the most significant impact. By focusing on these key material topics, MCH Group commits to driving meaningful change, ensuring our actions resonate deeply within our community and the industry at large, fostering a sustainable future for everyone involved.

How did we get here?
In 2022, we conducted a survey involving over 200 stakeholders, including customers, partners, and employees. We analyzed 30 factors concerning the social, economic, and environmental impacts of sustainability. Based on these findings and a workshop with a diverse group of stakeholders, we identified the core areas of our sustainability approach. These areas represent the most important opportunities and risks for us and our stakeholders.

Resource Management

Minimization of resource use and waste production, including recycling and upcycling of materials, optimization of procurement as well as separation, reuse and disposal of resources, both for our own productions and for our exhibitors.

Energy Management

Using and switching to renewable energy sources, including our own photovoltaic systems and optimizing our operations (e.g. lighting systems, energy-efficient appliances).

Procurement

Development and application of social and ecological criteria in the selection of and in cooperation with our suppliers and partners, as well as in the selection of materials and products.

Logistics and Transport

Selection of low-emission transport options and optimization of delivery and removal.

Mobility

Travel activities of customers and employees as well as commuting by our employees.

Training and Development

Training and further education opportunities for our employees worldwide, covering both the respective specialist area and further training in the area of sustainability and management.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Promoting diversity, equal opportunities and inclusion within – and where possible outside – our Group. For us, this means that we have and live by clear corporate values and are consistently committed to anti-discrimination practices.

Sustainable Business Models

Development and implementation of sustainable projects and initiatives that meet the new sustainable requirements of international markets and stakeholders.
