The new normal for the event industry

The COVID-19 lockdown was a hard blow for the Swiss exhibition and event industry. Now things are beginning to look up again: With its RELOADING LIVE campaign, MCH Group is demonstrating how live events can proceed responsibly and safely in the future, in light of the gradual easing of the restrictions.

Together with its partners, MCH Group is creating a physical showroom that illustrates how its set of precautionary measures is being implemented – from registration to exhibition and information stand visits and catering.

In recent months, MCH Group has been able to demonstrate that it is able to implement events as holistic concepts in a digital space. Nevertheless, Bernd Stadlwieser explains: “Live events remain immensely important. We are now in the starting blocks for the next phase and are ready for the relaunch. We look forward to organising live events in Switzerland again soon, together with our exhibitors and service providers”.

Live events remain immensely important

Bernd Stadlwieser, CEO MCH Group

Taking into account the current recommendations of the Federal Office of Public Health, the MCH Group has drawn up a comprehensive set ofprecautionary measures for this relaunch. “We accept our responsibility as an important part of the Swiss event industry and are developing innovative concepts for sustainable live events. What is needed now are solutions that are easy to implement and can be adapted to individual customer requirements”, adds Stadlwieser.

Experiencing the live event of the future

In order to make these concepts and the wide range of measures come alive, MCH Group has created a showroom at Messe Basel together with the Blickfang design exhibition, the catering company Wassermann and other partners.

It was important for us to show our customers what really has to be taken into account and how easy it is to implement the measures at the same time

Jonas Scharf, Managing Director CCB

For this reason, the showroom was created at Messe Basel to fully reflect the live event, taking into account the protective measures currently required. Registration in the run-up to the event, admission control on site, the construction and experience of exhibition and information stands or a visit to the catering area are all part of the setup, which will be presented to the public on July 3rd.
