Since opening in July 2024, Bambusnest in the Messe-Quartier Basel has transformed the Rundhof at Messe Basel into an urban oasis with sand, palms, and internationally inspired street food stands. Over the summer, it became a popular spot for relaxed after-work drinks and cozy family Sundays with music from local DJs. Now, just in time for Herbstmesse Basel, Bambusnest invites guests to its winter edition, presenting itself as a festive Winter Market.
“Bambusnest is an exceptional project that fits perfectly into the Messe-Quartier. We are thrilled to have created a unique outdoor location that offers an experience in the city, both in summer and winter.”
Roman Imgrüth, CEO MCH Exhibitions & Events
“The concept has proven to be a success. Our guests enjoy the unique ambiance, and Bambusnest is evolving into a popular meeting spot in the Messe-Quartier,” says Urs Poživil, founder of Sandoase and organizer of Bambusnest. Roman Imgrüth, CEO of MCH Exhibitions & Events, adds, “Bambusnest is an exceptional project that fits perfectly into the Messe-Quartier. We are thrilled to have created a unique outdoor location that offers an experience in the city, both in summer and winter. Our partners at Sandoase are demonstrating impressively how to enliven a space year-round and engage a variety of audiences.”
Starting at 5 PM each day, the Winter Market offers an enticing array of market stalls with treats for all tastes, from sweet to savory. Visitors are invited to unwind with a warm Glühwein and seasonal bites after a day at Herbstmesse Basel. Highlights include the Mongolian Fondue-Yurt, where guests can enjoy this traditional Swiss dish in a welcoming group setting, and the romantic Gondel-Village, offering private fondue experiences in beautifully decorated gondolas, perfect for couples.
With festive charm and culinary warmth, Bambusnest’s Winter Market promises to be a memorable Basel experience for the whole season. Reservations for fondue experiences can be made at bambusnest.ch.
