As one of the greatest challenges of our time, sustainability urgently requires an intensive exchange and transfer of knowledge in order to achieve tangible progress as quickly as possible. This is where the Sustainability Days on 10 and 11 April come in for the second time.
This year’s edition of the Sustainability Days is dedicated to promoting sustainable development for the city, region, environment and economy. High-profile personalities from Basel’s business and political world as well as national and international experts are expected to attend.
The Sustainability Days 2024 combine four platforms in one format: Knowledge transfer, networking and exchange in the fields of sustainable economy, smart city and environmental technology. The seven focus topics – Economy, Energy, Environment, Governance, Health, Infrastructure & Buildings and Mobility – are represented in both the congress and the exhibition.
In addition to the compact exhibition with around 60 leading providers presenting innovations, products, services and solutions, the congress program will feature over 120 speakers who will provide insights into current developments, research, trends and examples of best practice. For example, Pierre du Meuron, founding partner of Herzog & de Meuron, and Daniel Wiener, President of the Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation, will discuss the Cargo sous terrain (CST) digital total logistics system, while Lan Marie Nguyen Berg, member of the Green Party from Norway, and Anna König Jerlmyr, former mayor of Stockholm, will provide insights and perspectives on sustainability from the fields of government, politics and consulting as well as sustainable urban transformation.
At the networking dinner on the evening of April 10, 2024, Prof. Ernst Ulrich Weizsäcker will share his expertise in a guest lecture and present innovative ways for a sustainable future. He is considered a pioneer of sustainability and has been a source of ideas for the environmental movement in Germany for many years. The multi-award-winning scientist and long-standing Co-President of the Club of Rome is committed to climate protection. Giving urban transformation.
The Sustainability Days will take place on April 10 and 11 at the Congress Center Basel with opening hours on Wednesday and Thursday from 8.30 am to 5 pm.
